Winter-Proof Occasion Looks

The most common question I get asked as soon as the weather cools is how to dress for evening functions, and I get it. As I’ve said countless times before, winter dressing is harder. It requires more thought, more layers and, often, a little more creativity to put together a great outfit, especially when it’s freezing outside and you need to be somewhere fancy-ish.

Instead of defaulting to jeans and a dressy top (although nobody can deny the reliability of that combo), why not experiment with texture? Think leather and lace, classic outerwear layered over more modern pieces, unexpected colour combinations, or accessories that make the entire look. Sheer stockings and socks are getting my vote this season.

You don’t need a wardrobe full of high-end pieces to achieve these looks. A handful of versatile separates that mix and match effortlessly will see you through the next few months in both warmth and style. Give it a go.
