Styling Is Back: How To Transform Your Outfits From Boring to Considered

Do you think I jinxed the fashion industry by constantly voicing how much I hated uniform dressing and capsule wardrobes? Because somehow, the universe has listened — and this season we’re seeing the antithesis of minimalism and same-same styling.

The best way to describe it is this: styling is back. It’s about adding rather than subtracting — building a look that feels unique, considered, and entirely your own. Of course, the ’90s minimalist trend is still doing the rounds, but if you look a little closer, you’ll notice women are having more fun with their wardrobes. As the weather cools, there’s even more opportunity to play with layering, outerwear, and accessories.

To be clear, I’m not talking about clashing prints, oversized jewellery, or loud colours. This is something more nuanced. It’s about mixing opposites — textures, tones, and styles — to create a look that feels anything but formulaic. Think unexpected colour combinations, pairing dressy shoes with casual outfits, layering under and over basics, adding belts, interesting jewellery, and hair accessories — sometimes all at once.

I love how this feels. It’s individual, intentional, less serious, and full of joy. I hope you’ll give it a go.
