Boots For Every Occasion

You may have noticed that not much has changed in the boot-world the last few seasons. With the exception of Khaite’s ubiquitous slanted heel, boots are still, well, booting. There’s knee-length, ankle boots, western-inspired, flat boots, suede boots, slouchy, sky-high, square-toe, round-toe, pointy-toe — you get the idea…

Boots are always something I’m glad I have in my wardrobe every winter, and I always seem to pull them out to wear when I least expect it. At the moment, a black pair of pointy ankle boots are my go-to evening shoe as I just can’t fathom having my feet exposed in the cold. I also find boots with a heel easier to wear than a regular stiletto, so the comfort-factor also scores highly for me.

While I do think there’s a place and outfit applicable to most style of boots right now, I would still avoid anything too chunky — that silhouette doesn’t seem so relevant anymore, and this season’s obsession with relaxed fit denim seems to work better with a sleeker heel. I’m also not a huge fan of a flat boot (could have something to do with my height or lack thereof) or a western-style shape — but as always, you do you!

Here are some great styles on offer right now.
